The Swedish Navy is one of Europe's mightiest, with 68 large ships able to carry over 2000 cannons and 7000 men.

Skeppsholmen becomes Sweden's largest naval dockyard.

Fredrik Henrik af Chapman publishes his pioneering treatise Architectura Navalis Mercatoria on ship building and revolutionises modern naval architecture.

Anders Zorn sails his clipper Mejt designed by C O Liljegren.

August Plym's Archipelago 150 Beatrice Aurore is ready. One of only two ever built and the only one still in existence.

The match king, Ivar Krueger's Svalan is launched and delivered from Ruben Östlund's shipyard.

The 12m Princess Svanevit is commissioned by Eric Lundberg, one of two built at August Plym's Neglinge shipyard.

Life Magazine publishes a story on the Landlubber's Delight, Fredrik Ljungströms revolutionary boomless Twin Wing.

Gianni Agnelli purchases the yawl Agneta, built by August Plym's Swedish Neglinge shipyard.

J Craft builds its first prototype boat, the Cabrio Cruiser.

The first J Craft, Polaris, is delivered.

The J Craft Torpedo hits the water.
